"Go Green" Collection
Posted on 9/2/10NEW - just started in March 2010 - I've started to stain some of the recycled wood tables - using Sikkens Stains. I have routered the edges and sanded them smooth. When I stain, you get a two tone effect of the old wood and exposed wood ends and edges. See pictures below.
------------
The Go Green Collection may be the "Coolest" yet! I've started using weathered, seasoned wood from old decks, docks, picnic tables and fences to craft comfortable table, chairs, and benches.
Customers have buying these tables to use as unique computer desks, kitchen islands, TV stands, in the hall or on the porch tables - you get the idea - wherever !!! You can even put your new large flat screen on top of one of these tables and your additional components on a lower shelf or second table/shelf unit. See similar stained cypress and cedar pieces in the Best Southern Bar Collection.
Shop owners - need a table to show off a new collection of jewelry, clothing, or other special sale event? These tables will help bring the shoppers to the merchandise. I can add shelves, doors, tile, cast iron and other creative ideas to make your table(s) stand out. Check out the "Turkey Creek Collection" for more table ideas using windows, shutters, etc.
"Your table designs from this collection are truly unique. I am going to recommend your furniture to several Interior Designers."
Comments from a customer at the recent 2009 St. Simon's Arts & Crafts Fair in Ft. Walton Beach, FL
Most of the boards still have that gray-green patina that can only come from long exposure to sun, sand and salt air. Some of the newer table creations have the old wood as legs and braces combined with red-cedar tops. I stain the cedar with three coats of Sikkens Cetol 1 Cedar stain to protect the wood and really make it stand out from the old wood.
The Go Green Collection can be made entirely from reclaimed wood or combined with Cypress or Cedar for added character. This set also includes benches completely made out of Cypress or Cedar.
The garden tables in this collection are about 29'' tall, 17'' wide and 32'' long. The matching benches are about 18'' tall. The stand alone benches come in 14.5'' and 18'' heights. Some are 24.5'' long and others are 36'' long.
"We live in a condo with a very small porch. Your old look furniture is just the right size for this area."
"I bought your old wood furniture for my computer table and printer inside my house. Everyone is going to be impressed"
Comments from a customers who purchased some of my fence board tables and benches.
New in February (2010) ... Several benches and Gift Shop display shelving units have been made for the Gulf Breeze Zoo out of their old fence. Check out the pictures below. GREAT NEWS !!! The zoo is re-opened in February 2010.

States can be cut horizontal or vertical to match state shape.
State of Kentucky cut out of fence boards and stained with 3 coats of
Sikkens Cetol 1 - Mahogany color. More states can be cut out of fence
board furniture. Approx. 17" (L) x 11" (W). Stainless steel screws and
stainless steel hanging wire on back. I do realize that Kentucky is the
'Blue Grass State' but I was trying to match furniture.

Another view of the custom "writer's desk". The top is four boards from 5.5"
cedar (#1 grade - no knots) originally clamped together & screwed down to
look like one continuous flat top with no gaps between the boards. I also
changed out the lower support to another piece of cedar cut from a 2x4 and
rounded it off and sanded to match the old wood leg design.
